Abstract
This study is to investigate the moderated mediating effect of husband¡¯s care sharing satisfaction in the relationship between adult children care burden, stress., and depression of married women. To this purpose, the 7th wave(2018) of the Women and Family Panel (KLoWF) were used. Among 15,525 eligible adult women under the age of 64 surveyed, 501 women with adult children aged 19 or older were analyzed using PROCESS macro. As a result of the study, first, it was found that stress mediated the relationship between adult children care burden and depression of married women. In other words, it was found that the higher the burden of caring for adult children, the higher the stress and the higher the level of depression. Second, it was found that the mediating effect of adult children care burden on depression through stress was moderated according to the satisfaction with the husband"s sharing of care. In the mediating path where the higher the adult child care burden, the higher the stress, and the higher the level of depression, the higher the husband"s satisfaction with the sharing of care, the lower the stress and the lower the depression. Based on these results, institutional, policy, and practical issues were discussed to reduce the burden of caring for women and improve mental health in the changing family structure.
